At DALPEST, sustainability isn’t just a concept, it’s a practice woven into everything we do. This commitment was recently demonstrated when the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) visited the DALROD head office for an inspection of our thriving bee hives.
Since 2022, our Peterborough-based hives have been home to swarms collected from the local area, creating a sanctuary where these vital pollinators can flourish. Currently, five active hives buzz with life, contributing to biodiversity and supporting healthy ecosystems. In addition, we’re in the process of establishing a new hive, reinforcing our dedication to fostering local wildlife.
With World Bee Day on 20th May, it’s the perfect time to highlight the invaluable role bees play in our environment. These industrious pollinators are essential to global biodiversity and food security, making our commitment to hive care even more important. As a company, we’re proud to do our part, not just by maintaining healthy colonies, but also by producing our own honey. Carefully harvested from our thriving hives, we hope to produce over 100 jars by the end of the year, bringing a taste of sustainability to our operations.
