The DALPEST team recently took on a rather unusual (and messy!) challenge after being called to a windmill that’s due to be lovingly restored.
A Unique Challenge
Before any restoration could begin, there was one major issue to tackle: years’ worth of pigeon guano had built up inside of the structure.
As you can imagine, pigeon droppings aren’t just unpleasant, they can also pose serious health risks and cause long-term damage to buildings. It was essential to get the space cleaned and safe prior to any further works taking place.

Our technicians spent several days carefully removing the buildup and sanitising the interior to ensure it was completely safe. Once the clean up was complete, we also proofed the structure, sealing entry points and installing deterrents to prevent the pigeons from returning.
This resulted in a clean, safe and pest-free windmill that’s now ready for restoration. We’ve included before and after photos showing just how much of a transformation it was!
